All log beds are glued, mortise and tenon construction. Our log beds feature well constructed higher headboards, half-log side rails and sturdy footboards. Rustic dressers and side tables have 1 1/2 inch solid laminated pine tops. Our side panels are tongue and groove Lodgepole pine. Each drawer has two side mounted 75 pound capacity drawer slides. Each piece of log furniture is finished with two coats of satin lacquer. This log furniture is well constructed and will last for generations. Log Beds Online uses only Lodgepole pine for our log beds and log bedroom furniture.  Lodgepole pine cracks or "checks" as we call them, are the result of the cellular structure of the log contracting as it dries and are not considered defects. This is a natural and enhancing characteristic of dead standing Lodgepole pine. This is one of the features that draw people to the natural, rustic look of log furniture.
