All beds that will require assembly will have instructions included when shipped from our manufacturer, they are also provided on this site for your added convenience.  Due to the specific construction technique (mortise & tenon) used in manufacturing the furnishings you have selected, some on site assembly will be required.  Although this furnishing is not difficult to assemble, we feel you should be aware of what's involved.  It should be noted that all similar log furniture by any manufacturer is going to be shipped this way and need the same type of assembly.  There is no way to economically ship these furnishings fully assembled.

Bed Assembly

Unpack all furnishing components.  You will find the head and footboards fully assembled but the side rails and log slats for mattress support must be assembled.  Notice, on the bunk bed headboard there will be a number and an H for headboard, for the footboard there will be a matching number and an F for footboard.

In the location where the furnishing is to be used, lay the parts out according to general configuration of piece using the above matching letters to guide you.  Eventually, each joint will be secured with one lag bolt provided.  We suggest that you lay the lags out with furniture parts as well.  Washers provided must be used with each lag to assure proper tightening of joint.

Loose fit and assemble all parts without securing with bolts to start with.  It works best with a helper or two.  When all log parts are loose fitted, push each joint together as far as possible.  If side rails and slats are giving you resistance move parts around.  A soft block of wood and hammer is necessary to manually tighten the joint.  With washer on the lag bolt, start the lag into pre-drilled hole with a socket wrench of the proper size.  Tighten the lag using a socket wrench until the joint pulls together and the bevel or taper on the log tenon just barely touches the log with the mortise, or comes within about 1/8th inch of this taper.  Do not over tighten the lag or it can break or strip the hole out.  Repeat this on all joints and install wooden plug over countersink lag holes, tapping lightly with a hammer.

Standard Bed Assembly Instructions

Tools

Parts

9/16" socket and driver Headboard / Footboard
Metal Hammer Log Rails / Slats
  Bolt Package

These instructions are good for all sizes of the Rocky Mountain, Wild Frontier,
and Rustic Lodge beds.

  • STEP ONE - Move all parts of bed to desired location. Make sure you have all bed parts and tools for assembly.

  • STEP TWO -  Assemble Side Rails with Cross Rails (Slats), matching the corresponding numbers and letters.

  • STEP THREE - Once rails are assembled together, insert rail assembly into the Headboard and then into the Footboard. This is a two person operation, it will take one person to hold and stabilize the Headboard while inserting rails, as well as the Footboard.

  • STEP FOUR - Insert Lag Bolts from bolt package into the holes in the Headboard/Footboard and tighten bolts. Do not over tighten, this could cause stripping and weaken the structure.

  • STEP FIVE - Finish with Wood Plugs from bolt package. You are now ready for your mattresses, congratulations!

Bunk Bed Assembly Instructions

Tools

Parts

9/16" Socket and Driver Headboard & Footboard
Rubber Hammer 1 Guard rail / Safety rail
Two people (three even better) 3 Side rails & 6 Round slats
8' or higher ceiling - for under 8' carefully rotate to side then to front (step seven) Bolt package & Ladder

See bottom for different styles of bunks

  • STEP ONE - Place both headboard and footboard in room where your new bunk beds will rest. Make sure you have all bed parts and tools for assembly.

  • STEP TWO -  Place both the Headboard and Footboard in location where the Bunk Bed will rest. Big holes facing up.

  • STEP THREE - Put the rail assemblies together (each letter on the bunk will have a corresponding letter to match). Start with the lower rail assemblies (bottom bunk). Have one person hold the Headboard and the other place the assembly into bottom holes on bunk. Next move to the top bunk and insert the top rail assembly. Move to the top guardrail (single rail with no holes) and insert the top guardrail.

  • STEP FOUR - Once all assemblies are inserted into the Headboard, move to the Footboard. Remember to move the Footboard to the bed, not the bed to the Footboard. Insert the bottom rail assembly into Footboard. Once that is in, move the bed up. Don’t worry if the joints don’t go all the way in, you will tighten them with bolts later.

  • STEP FIVE - Insert all bolts in the Headboard. Start with the bottom, working your way up. Once all bolts are in, move to the Footboard. Insert all bolts from the bottom up. Do not over tighten. Once you hear the wood crackling, then you can stop turning the bolt. All that is left is the wooden plugs. Tap the 1” wooden plugs in with a hammer (not all the way in) and you are done.

Please note:

  • For the Mountain Twin Bunk that separates, assemble in two beds loosely and then with 4 people, lift top bunk onto bottom bunk (lift with your legs, not your back). Make sure you place the wooden dowels into the holes so that the top bunk doesn't move.

  • For Wrangler Bunk, your two top guardrails are the ones without the holes.

  • For Mountain Twin/Full Bunk, the top log of the guardrail goes on the outside of the bed frame and secures with a lag bolt.
